Yard Sale SCORE

Stopped by the library this afternoon, and this vanity caught my eye when we passed by a yard sale on the way out. We ended up getting it, along with a matching four drawer bureau. (Not pictured, as it's in the garage awaiting stripping and re-finishing. The vanity will have the same future, but I had immediate need for it inside.)

Underneath that horrible paint, they're nice, solid cherry pieces from the mid-20th century.

You can't beat old furniture especially solid wood. Furniture today is junk. I like your find!

Score! I really like it. Can't wait to see it once it's refinished, although I'm also digging the shabby chic look it has now.

Oh my goodness! Someone was selling CHERRY furniture at a yard sale? That is absolutely amazing.

Though I am vaguely horrified that it was painted. It's bad enough to paint wood, but painting cherry? Sheesh. (and yes, I know, that was the thing to do once upon a time)
